14-16 year olds in schools are invited to turn their brains to litter and enter the Bin It!
14-16 media competition to create a social media campaign to tackle a local littering issue of their choice.
The deadline for entries for the competition for UK and Republic of Ireland (RoI) schools is 24 May 2019.
The top UK prize is a £500 Amazon voucher for the winning team, and their school will also receive a £500 Amazon voucher. The top RoI prize is a 500 euro Amazon voucher for the team and their school also receives a 500 euro voucher.
This annual Bin It! competition has been updated for 2019 and requires students, in groups of five, to link business studies, marketing and project management skills and knowledge to create a local social media campaign. You will find details of how to enter here. Additionally the Bin It! website has online teaching resources to help with student entries. All are completely free and can be found here.
The timing coincides with Ireland’s National Spring Clean, now in its 20th year and sponsored by Mars Wrigley Confectionery, which is underway this month and the Great British Spring Clean which has just finished. Both these national campaigns work with people in local communities to encourage behaviour changes that reduce the levels of littering. Volunteers help clear specified areas or address defined local littering issues which can be the focus of student teams’ entries.
Teachers with queries about the competition should call the Bin It! team on 020 8973 0040 or email enquiries to here.
