Bin It! UK winners are announced!

11th June 2019

Congratulations to UK Winners of the Bin It! Media Competition

Colyton Grammar School, produced the winning entry for the UK schools Bin It! 14-16 media and business studies competition. The school won £500 and the winning team members shared a £500 prize in vouchers. The team called ‘Deep’ focused on cleaning up local beaches through a innovative social media campaign that has music at its core.

The campaign competition project offered students the opportunity to work on a business-in-the-real-world project with educational content covering a range of activities – marketing planning and strategy, research, creative concepts, final design works and evaluations.

Entries flooded in showing a wonderful display of talent and a clear understanding of littering problems.

There were two runner-up schools with team entries that, in the opinion of the judges, showed creative flair and understanding of marketing issues surrounding litter – Northampton School for Boys, Northampton and The Park Community School, Barnstable. The runner-up schools each won £250 and the runner-up teams won £250 of vouchers for their student members.

Bin It! is an educational programme sponsored by Mars Wrigley Confectionery, and supported by Keep Britain Tidy, Keep Scotland Beautiful, Keep Wales Tidy and Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful. The programme has been running in UK schools successfully for over 10 years.
