4th September 2019

Congratulations to the winners of the Bin It! Media Competition, Ireland

The third year of the Bin It! Media competition has closed. Entries came flooding in full of wonderful ideas, making the judging incredibly difficult, but there can be only one winner.

Congratulations to the winning team from Colaiste na bPiarsach, Galway that won first prize in the Bin It! 14-16 media and business studies competition 2018

For the competition, part of the Gum Litter Taskforce (GLT) anti-littering schools campaign, student teams create their own social media campaign to change behaviour and attitudes towards littering in their local area.

The Colaiste na bPiarsach winning team, called ‘Don’t be mean, keep the beaches clean’, produced an entry, on the theme of anti-littering, which, in the opinion of the judges, was full of bold and innovative ideas to help banish litter from local beaches with a strong marketing strategy behind it.

The school won €500 and the winning team members share an additional €500 prize.

The student team, called ‘Plastic not so Fantastic’, from Pobalscoil na Tríonóidewon, Cork the runner-up prize of €250 for the schools and €250 shared by the team students.
